New York-based designer Laura Baross wanted to curate elegant interiors without harming the environment — so she created Design w Care, which incorporates a zero waste philosophy into its interior and architectural designs.
The Brooklyn design studio works with clients to help achieve their design goals in a sustainable way, and partners primarily with conscious design brands. When working on an interior project, Baross and the studio utilize secondhand or vintage décor as much as possible, while providing an ethical point-of-view on finishes, materials, locations and client lifestyles.
They also offer advice and resources for private businesses looking to go green or adopt more conscious practices.
The studio has designed for homes, offices, pop-ups and retail spaces, including the seminal Package Free Shop in Williamsburg. They’ve also hosted events with other ethically-minded individuals as headliners.
More information about Design w Care, including their extensive services, can be found on their website. They also sell vintage home décor staples and offer eco-friendly design advice via their journal.
